
The central government has given green signal to metro rail traffic on Baiyappanahalli - KR Puram and Chalaghatta - Kengeri lines of our Metro purple line in Bangalore. It has instructed to start metro traffic from A.9 without waiting for any formal and informal programs of the government.
Commercial service on two railway lines between Byyappanahalli - KR Pura (2.1 km) and Challaghatta - Kengeri (2.05 km) sections of the East-West Corridor of the Purple Line of Bengaluru Metro has been sanctioned for passenger operations. Safety test was conducted by Commissioner of Metro rail Safety (CMRS) on 25th and 30th September. In this regard, permission has been given to formally open the above two railway lines for passenger service.
Already deputy chief minister Haghoo Bangalore Urban Development minister D.K. Sivakumar had written to the central government on september 5 asking them to set a date for the formal inauguration of Baiyappanahalli - KR Pura and Challaghatta - Kengeri lines. However, prime minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Siddaramaiah requested their presence. However, these Bangalore are important from the point of view of travelers of Bengaluru to provide non-stop connectivity travel service from east to West side of the city. Therefore central government has instructed to open for commercial service immediately on 9th October, 2023 without any formal/informal official function.
The IT employees who had started the hashtag: BMRCL has not yet come to the muhurta for the start of Baiyappanahalli-KRpura metro line. Now this issue is making noise at the national level. The IT employees protested against the negligence of the Bangalore Metro rail Corporation and started a campaign on X (Twitter) for the start of Baiyappanahalli-KRpura Metro. The hashtag #StartPurpleLineOperations campaign was done and thousands of people tweeted and expressed dissatisfaction against BMRCL. Through this, people expressed their outrage by tweeting against the irresponsibility of BMRCL officials. Not only that, the cm, DCM have also tagged PM Modi and requested him to start the metro as soon as possible. Traffic jam video, photo, along with a video of people on the skywalk were flashed.
