prime minister Narendra Modi on sunday said that congress has harmed Karnataka, development there
has stopped and doubts have arisen over its Chief Minister’s continuation in power. Modi also targeted
the ruling congress over infighting between two groups in Rajasthan. This was apparently a reference
to the feud between chief minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.
Addressing a public meeting in Khandwa in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi said, “Congress
indulges in corruption and ruins the states in which it forms governments. “They are engaged in
infighting and have no time for people.” He said that look at the congress government formed in
Karnataka just six months ago. The chief minister does not know how long he will remain the head of
the state. They have ruined Karnataka, development activities there have come to a standstill.”
PM Modi said, This is the culture of the congress, where infighting goes on and their judges sitting in
Delhi give verdicts and run their shops. The prime minister alleged, Wherever the Congress
government is formed by mistake. There is a competition between the chief minister and the Deputy
chief minister to loot the state and such reports are continuously coming from Karnataka.
chief minister Siddaramaiah accused the bjp of creating confusion over the change of chief minister in
Karnataka and claimed that the bjp and JD(S) were disappointed as their dream of forming a
government immediately after the assembly election results in May did not come true. Ever since this
government came to power, there have been claims and counterclaims within the congress party that
after two and a half years of this government, Siddaramaiah may have to step down for Deputy Chief
minister DK Shivakumar.
