In a survey conducted on who should become the next prime minister, 64 percent said that prime minister Modi should come back. 64% of respondents chose narendra modi as the best candidate for the post of Prime Minister. 17% are congress MPs. rahul gandhi has been chosen as the primary choice for the post of Prime Minister. 19% said another prime minister would be their top choice.
The results of a survey conducted by a private company to find out the public opinion on who should become the next prime minister have been released. Accordingly, when asked to choose the leader of the Opposition who they believe would be suitable as prime minister, 19% preferred rahul Gandhi. 15% chose mamata Banerjee. Also, 12% chose delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, 6% tamil Nadu chief minister M.K.Stalin and 8% uddhav thackeray from Maharashtra. In this survey, 40% said 'none of the above' among those who they consider fit for the post of prime minister.
The election commission of india is yet to announce the official date for lok sabha elections 2024. Earlier last month, Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer issued a clarification stating that april 16 is the presumptive date for the lok sabha polls, based on the election commission of India's election scheduler. The 2019 lok sabha elections were held in seven phases, starting on april 11 and ending on May 19, with the results declared by May 23. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, the BJP-led nda won 353 seats, the Congress-led UPA stood at 91, while others won 98.Voting was held in seven phases from april 11 to May 19, with 67 percent of the 900 million eligible voters exercising their franchise to elect 542 lok sabha members.
