Deputy Speaker of bihar assembly Maheshwar Hazari has resigned from his post. Notification has been issued by the Assembly. With this, speculations have started about Hazari becoming a minister. Regarding resignation, Maheshwar Hazari said that I have taken this step of my own free will by keeping the high command in the knowledge. Being a dedicated soldier of the party, I will take whatever decision the party takes for me. I will do it with seriousness and devotion. According to a notification from the secretariat, Hazari's resignation became effective from the afternoon of february 21. Hazari, a second-time mla from the reserved Kalyanpur assembly constituency, was holding the post of Deputy Speaker since march 2021. It is not yet known why the senior leader, who was earlier a minister in the nitish kumar cabinet, left the post.

Maheshwar Hazari has already been a minister in nitish kumar cabinet. The cabinet is yet to be expanded in the nda government led by cm Nitish Kumar. At present there are nine ministers in Nitish Kumar's government. According to JDU sources, the names of ministers have not been decided yet by BJP, hence the cabinet is not being expanded.
