Meanwhile, china has changed the names of 30 more places near the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh in their language in an attempt to assert its claim over Arunachal Pradesh. After 3 such lists have already been published, the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs, which is responsible for establishing and naming administrative units, has now published a 4th list.
Accordingly, china has renamed a total of 30 places, including 11 residential areas, 12 mountains, four rivers, a lake, a mountain pass, and a strip of land. Those names have Chinese, Tibetan, Pinyin, and Mandarin Chinese romanizations.
China's Ministry of Civil Affairs, which is responsible for establishing and naming administrative divisions, has standardized some geographical names in China's Zhangnan (Arunachal Pradesh), the country's South china Morning Post reported.
Earlier, in 2017, china released the first list of so-called standardized names to rename six places in Arunachal Pradesh. china released the 4th list in 2021 with the second list of 15 places and the third list with 11 names in 2023.
