Hearing on petition of independent MLAs in Himachal HC...

A bench headed by himachal pradesh High court Chief Justice M. Ramachandra Rao heard the petition of three independent MLAs. Hearing the petition comprising Chief Justice M. Ramachandra Rao and Justice ajay Mohan Goel, the Chief Justice has issued a notice to the assembly Secretariat. The reply to this notice has been asked to be filed by april 24. Three independent MLAs Hoshiar Singh, krishna Lal Thakur, and ashish Sharma had filed a petition in the himachal pradesh High Court. This petition was in protest against the non-acceptance of the resignation of himachal pradesh assembly Speaker kuldeep Singh Pathania. The three independent MLAs had resigned on march 22 and had also staged a sit-in protest outside the assembly premises on march 30.

Demand to accept resignation

All three independent MLAs of himachal pradesh assembly have resigned from their membership. All three independent MLAs have also joined the bharatiya janata party in Delhi. elections for 4 lok sabha seats in himachal pradesh are to be held in the last phase on june 1. Along with four lok sabha seats, there are also by-elections in six assembly constituencies in the state. All three independent MLAs want that their resignations should be accepted as soon as possible, so that by-elections in these three areas can be declared on june 1 only.

Demand for any intervention from the governor also

After resigning from the membership of himachal pradesh assembly, the three independent MLAs also met governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. After submitting the copy of this resignation, the three independent MLAs had asked the governor to intervene. However, the governor had made it clear that raj bhavan has limited powers and he cannot interfere in this entire matter.
