The enforcement department was allowed to take the arrested poet into custody for 10 days and conduct an investigation. While the investigation is over, Kavita has been lodged in Delhi's tihar jail under judicial custody. The cbi officials have arrested Kavita, who has already been arrested by the enforcement department in Delhi's liquor scam case, in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
Earlier, the cbi officials had recently interrogated Kavita inside the tihar jail with the permission of a special court. It appears that the cbi officials have interrogated kavitha regarding the whatsapp messages taken from the phone of another person involved in the case, and documents related to the land deal. Meanwhile, former telangana chief minister Chandrasekhara Rao's daughter kavitha had filed a petition seeking her bail in Delhi's Rose Avenue court. Special cbi Judge kaveri Baveja, who heard the case, refused to grant interim bail to Kavita and dismissed her plea. The delhi Aam Aadmi party government led by chief minister arvind kejriwal implemented a new liquor policy in november 2021. It was alleged that the new liquor policy had been malpracticed and the government had suffered a loss of up to Rs 2,800 crore. In this regard, the cbi and the Enforcement Department have separately registered a case and are investigating. In this case, delhi Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and chief minister arvind kejriwal have also been arrested.
