On friday night, mischievous elements allegedly set on fire the statue of baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, which was wrapped in a cloth before its unveiling, in Lohchab village of Jind district of Haryana. police gave this information on Saturday. According to the police, the statue was to be unveiled by mla Dr krishna Middha on Sunday.
Police said that on the complaint of village sarpanch representative mukesh Kumar, they are investigating the matter by registering an FIR against unknown people in Sadar police station under various sections including arson, vandalism, and hurting the sentiments of people. Sadar police station investigating officer mahendra singh said that the statue was to be unveiled on Sunday. A complaint has been received from mischievous elements that it was vandalized last night. He said that at present a case has been registered against unknown people and the matter is being investigated.

In Lohchab village of Jind district, the sc community had built a statue of Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on the land lying near a well. After the completion of its construction work, it was to be unveiled by mla Dr. krishna Middha on Sunday. But, before that, mischievous elements wrapped the statue of baba Saheb in a cloth and set it on fire. After learning about the incident, a large number of villagers reached there and expressed anger after seeing the broken statue. Information about the incident was given to Sadar police station, after which the police also reached the incident site and took stock of the situation.
On the complaint of Sarpanch representative mukesh Kumar, a case has been registered under different sections and an investigation is being done. Regarding the matter, DSP Rohtas Dhull said that legal action has been initiated. The accused will be arrested soon.
