Farmers who protested in a traditional manner claiming that they were involved in corruption in the construction of cow sheds, brought a procession with drums and held a ceremony to praise the Pongalur Regional Development Officers. Following the corruption, the farmers from the Pongalur area protested by holding their cows, bringing an array of vegetables along with drumsticks, and trying to hold a felicitation ceremony for the district development officers. Also, the police who were on security duty in front of the regional development office stopped the farmers who tried to hold a felicitation ceremony by garlanding the officials who were corrupt in setting up cowsheds for the farmers under the central government scheme. After this, the farmers raised their protest slogans in front of the Farmers Regional Development office and dispersed from there.
