Liquor shops will remain closed for 3 days!!!

In view of Gorakhpur, Bansgaon, Sant Kabir nagar Partial lok sabha General Election-2024, the district administration is on alert to complete various election related works in a timely and smooth manner. To ensure safe conduct of elections and counting and 100 percent compliance with the instructions of the election commission of India, officials inspected the strong room built to keep EVMs and the counting place in Gorakhpur University. Instructions have been given to keep liquor and cannabis shops closed within a radius of 8 kilometers of the partial area, 48 hours before the elections on May 25 in Sant Kabir nagar and on june 1 in Gorakhpur-Bansgaon lok sabha constituency. Prohibitory orders will remain in force even on the day of counting.

On Thursday, district election Officer/District Magistrate krishna Karunesh, Deputy district election Officer ADM Finance vineet kumar Singh, Joint Magistrate/SDM Sadar Mrinali avinash Joshi inspected the strong room and counting place in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur. After inspection, he instructed the concerned to make necessary arrangements in time. Whatever shortcomings were seen at the strong room and counting place built in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, should be rectified within time.

The counting venue will be monitored through CCTV

Instructions were given to fix the roads and drains from the strong room to the counting venue. Instructions were also given to complete the barricading work from the strong room to the counting venue on time. district election Officer/District Magistrate krishna Karunesh said that adequate number of CCTV cameras are being installed all around, strong room and counting place for surveillance. Electrical wires are also being repaired. The district election Officer said that negligence at any level will not be forgivable. He has exercised the powers as per the instructions of the government and section 59 of the Uttar Pradesh Excise Act 1910.
