Lok Sabha elections 2024: congress candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla has accused a relative of AAP candidate kuldeep Dhaliwal of firing at his rally in Ajnala, Amritsar.

Lok Sabha elections 2024: On Saturday, goons attacked congress candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla during a public meeting in Amritsar, Punjab. The goons opened fire outside the ongoing public meeting in Ajnala, due to which a young man got injured. The injured youth is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Gurjit Singh Aujla has accused aam aadmi party (AAP) candidate kuldeep Dhaliwal of firing. Aujla says that Dhaliwal's relative was among those who fired. On the other hand, this matter of firing has gained momentum. Considering this matter as serious, the election commission has sought a report from the director General of punjab Police. Apart from this, the district Deputy Commissioner (District Magistrate), who is performing the responsibility of district Election Officer of Amritsar, has also been ordered to submit the report after conducting investigation at his level within 24 hours.

First gave threats, then shot

Gurjit Singh Aujla's public meeting was in Ajnala on Saturday. During the public meeting in the afternoon, some people shot a young man and fled. Aujla says that the injured youth is a congress worker. Aujla alleges that the goons of AAP candidate kuldeep Dhaliwal are continuously threatening congress workers. Activists are being threatened with consequences if they go to the public meeting in Aujla. For this reason this firing has been done.
