Researchers said the meteorite, which entered Earth's atmosphere at 61,000 km/h at 1.45am on Saturday, was detected at an altitude of 91km in the Foros de Valle Figura region of Évora district. He also said that the meteorite rock moved towards the northeast and disintegrated at a height of about 19 kilometers over Kano Parish.


Meteors usually form in space. They break into small pieces when they reach the earth's surface. Those pieces may break off to varying degrees. But now the size of the meteorite that fell was much larger than expected and the preliminary study said that the meteorite was not completely destroyed and a part of it fell to the earth.
