Man-eating tiger caught in Chandrapur, Maharashtra...

A man-eating tiger has been caught unconscious by forest department employees from Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. According to a forest department official, this tiger had killed three people in the villages of Chandrapur district of maharashtra in the last few months. In a release issued by the Forest Department, it was said that in the last 7 months, the tiger had attacked and killed three people in the villages adjacent to Nimdhela Round.

According to the forest department official, a rescue operation was launched under the supervision of Dr. Jitendra Ramgaonkar, Area director of Tadoba Andhari tiger Reserve (TATR) and the tiger was rescued from Compartment 59 of Khadsangi Forest Range. After this the tiger was sent to Gorewada Wildlife Rescue Center in Nagpur. TATR veterinarian Dr Ravikant Khobragade, one of the team members, said this was his 68th independent tiger capture.

Forest workers also caught another injured tiger

Another forest department official said that a tiger which was injured in a territorial fight in Maharashtra's Pench tiger Reserve (PTR) range has also been rescued. He is being treated. PTR Deputy director Dr. Prabhu Nath Shukla said that the department decided to save the tiger because its wound was injured and was not healing.

The tiger had entered the abandoned old security hut in compartment number 509 in Khursapar beat of Devlapar (wildlife) range on Friday, after which a rescue team reached the spot and tranquilized it. The official said that there was a wound in the middle part of both its eyes, initial treatment was done and the animal was locked in a cage for examination.
