Standing on the plane! indigo flight caused a stir by a passenger standing still!

"An error has occurred in the seat allocation for mumbai to varanasi services. A passenger who was on the waiting list has been allocated a seat," indigo said.


An indigo flight from mumbai to varanasi was turned back to the place of departure by a standing passenger. This caused a commotion at the mumbai airport for a while.


Indigo flight 6E 6543 departed for varanasi at mumbai airport at 7.50 am on Tuesday. While all the seats in the plane were full, only one passenger was standing in the last row without a seat.



The flight took off from mumbai to varanasi without any of the flight attendants asking why he was standing still. A flight attendant noticed and questioned the standing passenger while he was crawling on the runway and doing 'taxing' before take off.


On learning that he was arriving without a seat, the flight immediately returned to the departure terminal. After dropping the passenger who was standing still, it started back to varanasi after about an hour's delay.


A statement issued by indigo airlines said, "An error has occurred in the seat allocation for mumbai to varanasi services. A passenger who was on the waiting list has been allocated a seat."


"This error was noticed prior to departure. The standing passenger was disembarked. This caused a slight delay. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to customers," it said.
