In the letter issued by the election commission of india to the Chief Secretary of punjab, it is written that IPS Swapan Sharma and IPS kuldeep Tahal are transferred from their present posts and appointed to non-election related posts with immediate effect.

There is competition between them on the seats of jalandhar and Ludhiana.
