Rahul Gandhi said that today India's manufacturing is only 14 percent of GDP, which is a record low. At the same time, unemployment is at its peak, and imports from china have doubled.

Rahul Gandhi Target PM Modi

Leader of Opposition in lok sabha and congress MP rahul gandhi has once again targeted the Modi government's Make in india scheme. He posted a video on the social media platform X on saturday (July 19, 2025) and said, Do you know that 80 percent of most TVs made in india come from China?

Rahul gandhi said that in the name of 'Make in India', we are only assembling, not actual manufacturing. He said that the parts of everything from iPhones to TVs come from abroad, and we just assemble them.

Rahul gandhi said, How will china be challenged

Targeting the Modi government, rahul gandhi said that small entrepreneurs want to manufacture, but there is neither a policy nor support. On the contrary, there are heavy taxes and a monopoly of selected corporations, which have gripped the country's industry. Till the time India becomes self-sufficient in production, talks of employment, development, and "Make in India" will remain mere speeches. He further said that ground-level changes are needed so that india can move beyond the assembly line and become a real manufacturing power and compete with china on equal terms.

'Unemployment is at its peak'

Congress MPs have been attacking the government on Make in india even before this. Last month, they went to Nehru Place in delhi and talked to local technicians. They alleged that the government had promised to bring a boom in factories through Make in india, but why is manufacturing at a low level today? Why is youth unemployment at a record high? And why have imports from china doubled?
