Hockey world cup 2023: Tie-breaker rule...

The Men's hockey world cup will be held in odisha in 2023, therefore india is getting ready for another major occasion. The best 16 teams in the globe will compete for the championship during the major hockey tournament, which runs from january 13 to 29 in the odisha cities of Bhubaneshwar and Rourkela.

India is one of the 16 top teams in the globe, and there are four groups total. The groups are listed below.

Pool A:- Australia, South Africa, France, Argentina

Pool B:- Belgium, Japan, Korea, Germany

Pool C:- Netherlands, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand

Pool D:- india, Wales, Spain, England

Each pool's top team advances automatically to the following stage and receives the first four slots in the quarterfinals. The subsequent four teams to compete in the quarter-finals will be determined by crossover games between the second- and third-placed teams in each group.

In the pool stage, the team will receive two points for each victory and one point for each tie.

The tie-breaker rule will be applied to determine the teams' rankings in each category if two teams are tied on multiple counts in the table.

The team with the most victories during the group stage will be ranked higher in the pool if two teams are tied on points. The goal difference, or the difference between the number of goals scored and the number of goals conceded, will be taken into account if both the number of points earned and the number of victories for either team are equal.

The person with a greater goal differential will receive a higher rating. If the same is true, the team with the highest number of goals scored will be given preference for the higher rank. The head-to-head result between the two teams will be ranked higher if that is also equal.
