Para-athlete deepa Malik has set an example for the country!!!


Deepa Malik started her athletics career at the age of 30. Participated in a variety of competitions including shot put, swimming, javelin throw, discus throw and biker. deepa Malik, who created history by winning a medal in the Rio Olympics, is a good athlete in shotput and javelin throw as well as a great biker. In front of her enthusiasm and passion, even her deadly disease could not come in the way. In a variety of events, she has garnered 54 national and 18 international medals. Notably, before the silver in the Paralympics, she won the gold medal in the javelin throw at the 2018 Para-Athletic Grand Prix Championships in Dubai.

Along with the Federation of Motor sports Clubs of india, deepa Malik is a member of the Himalayan Motorsports Association (HMA) (FMSCI). She won four medals in the Asia Para Games. Which includes bronze in the javelin throw F52-53 event in 2010, silver in the javelin throw F52-53 event in 2014 and two bronze medals (discus throw F52-53 and javelin throw F53-54) in 2018.

Deepa Malik is the first woman with disabilities in the country to get an official license from the Federation Motor sports Clubs of india (FMSCI). She has taken part in the country's toughest car rallies, Raid-de-Himalaya (2009) and Desert Storm (2010) as a navigator and driver. She is a member and active participant in various foundations promoting sports and physical education under the Ministry of sports in india, contributing significantly to the development of the nation.
