A Kid's Scary Confession

"While I was studying at my house after my lessons, suddenly some people came and attacked my house. What a commotion! There were huge and loud noises outside.

We could not get out so mommy closed the door. After ten minutes everything calmed down. But, we could not step outside because there were so many pieces of glass. It was so scary because it was the first time this had happened to me. This happened before many days but the fear is still there".

Action

Muslims here were outraged after those incidents in Panisagarh. But, they tried to stop as much as possible from any untoward incidents.

Initially, the police and authorities were not active. Everyone became active after the Panisagar violence.

Questions have been raised over the role of officials behind tensions over religious clashes in the three districts of Tripura.

It was too late to take action when these incidents happened in almost every neighbourhood but there was a delay in arresting the protestors and accused.

However, Tripura (North) SP Bhanupada Chakraborty denied the allegations.

"It is true that tens of thousands of people took part in the Dharmanagar rally. But, whether the mosque or Hindu temple was set on fire or not is a matter for investigation. We have arrested all the suspects without any distinction when it comes to police action".
