Why Tulsi plant not Watered on Sunday?
In every house, everyone gives water to Tulsi plant early in the morning throughout the year, Tulsi Mata is pleased and gives blessings. Tulsi is considered as the form of Mother Lakshmi. It is believed that in the house where there is a Tulsi plant, the blessings of Goddess lakshmi and Lord vishnu remain there, but sunday is such a day when water should not be given to the plant.
Reason
It is believed that Tulsi fasts for Lord vishnu on Sundays. On this day, by giving water in Tulsi, their fast is broken. Doing this spreads negativity in the house. Many problems related to life have to be faced and Goddess lakshmi gets angry.
Tulsi should not be watered even on the day of Ekadashi. It is believed that Goddess Tulsi was married to Shaligram, a form of Vishnu, on the day of Ekadashi. According to religious beliefs, both were married with customs on Dev Uthani Ekadashi. Goddess lakshmi observes fast on Ekadashi. In such a situation, if water is poured on her on this day, then her fast is broken and she gets angry and slowly the plant starts drying up.
How to worship Tulsi?
It is very auspicious to have Tulsi in the house, as well as worshiping Tulsi gives many benefits. Regularly water is offered to Tulsi, but religious texts prohibit offering water on Sundays and Ekadashi.
