It has been several weeks since the WTC finals ended and still, the indian fans are not able to come out of that loss and its impact. The reason is, indian fans had huge hopes for the current team and everything went in vain during the final match in Southampton. Even though prithvi shaw, KL rahul were in good form, the team management went with Gill and Rohit as opening pairs and that itself speaks volumes of confidence they had in the opening pair. 


But still, the same pair were considered as the opening pair even for the upcoming england Test series, and this shocked several people. But unfortunately, Gill got injured and several fans expected prithvi shaw to enter england as an opener as he had a solid tournament and helped mumbai to bag the trophy. 


Some of them even considered Devdut Pallikal to open the innings. But, bcci has clarified that there won't be any replacement and mayank agarwal himself will open the innings. rohit sharma will open the account with mayank Agarwal. So there won't be any changes and the tests against england will start from next month. Meanwhile, india A-Team will begin their matches against sri lanka on the 13th of this month.
