CWG 2022: India's 4th medal Bindyarani!!!

India has got 4 medals so far in weightlifting in Commonwealth Games 2022. Mirabai Chanu won gold for the country and 23-year-old Bindyarani Devi has won the silver medal. Bindya from Manipur considers Mirabai as her role model and the story of her struggle is also similar. It is said that 'big dreams require a lot of courage' and Bindya has probably made it the motto of her life. The journey of weightlifting has been very difficult for Bindya. There was a time that she did not even have a good job for regular income. She was not even able to earn the necessary income to increase her career in sports. The shoes used for weightlifting are very expensive. Bindya did not have money to buy it.

Bindya did not let problems like the financial condition of the family and her low income come in the way of fulfilling her dream. Keeping these difficulties aside, she paid full attention to her training, fitness and today after winning gold for the country in the World Championships, she has won a silver medal in the Commonwealth.

Bindya had told in the same interview that Mirabai had also given her financial assistance to buy sports equipment. Bindya's goal is to win gold in the Olympics. She says that like meera Di, I also want to win gold for the country in the Olympics. 

23-year-old Bindyarani Devi has won the silver medal in the 55 kg weight category of weightlifting. She lifted 81 kg in the first attempt of the snatch, 84 in the second attempt and 86 kg in the third attempt. After the snatch, her overall ranking was at number three and the country was looking forward to the medal.

The young weightlifter from Manipur lifted 110 kg in her first attempt at clean and jerk. However, she failed to lift 114 kg in the second attempt. In the third attempt, she had put in full force and lifted the weight of 116 kg and took the silver in her name. With this, the whole country was in awe of another medal.
