Tuesday saw one of the greatest ODI efforts in history from Glenn Maxwell, who hit an amazing unbeaten 201 to help australia upset afghanistan by 3 wickets in a thrilling victory in Mumbai. australia was down at 91/7 and had lost all of its recognized hitters save for Maxwell as they attempted to chase a formidable 292-run total at the Wankhede Stadium. The Australian all-rounder then launched into a blitzkrieg, blasting ten sixes and twenty-fours as he led australia to a narrow victory.

Maxwell disclosed that he suffered from cramps and opted to stay on the pitch in order to get his legs moving, even though he was allowed to go back to the pavilion following his outstanding double-century effort in the match. He said that he felt the effects of both the high temperature and his lack of physical activity.

"Terrific. I'm stoked," Maxwell said when he was asked how he felt physically after the draining knock.

"Obviously, it was quite hot when we were fielding. I didn't do much high-intensity training in the heat and it got to me. It was good to stick out till the end.

Maxwell said that after Australia's early losses against south africa and India, fans were "quick" to write them off. But since then, the Australians have won six straight games and have advanced to the semi-finals as the third team.
