Stranger Things Season 4 will, according to Millie bobby Brown, clarify questions about Eleven's past and provide more insight into her origins. Brown stars as Eleven in the hit Netflix series, which will return this summer after a three-year sabbatical following the conclusion of Stranger Things season 3. Eleven is one of the series' central characters, a young girl who was kidnapped and experimented on because of her psychokinetic abilities, eventually breaking free and attempting to live a regular life in Hawkins, Indiana.

In previous seasons, it was revealed that Eleven (aka Jane "El" Hopper) was born Jane Ives before being kidnapped and transported to Hawkins National Laboratory. Her skills were put to the test there, and she eventually opened a portal to the "Upside Down," a terrible region filled with monstrous creatures like the Demogorgon. Stranger Things season 3 ended with Eleven seemingly losing her powers after defeating the most recent creature to break through, and she left Hawkins with the Byers family to flee and start over, which appears to be where Stranger Things season 4 will begin.

India Herald was on present to interview the cast in a virtual set visit from 2021, including Brown, who was asked how much of her character's past would be explored in Stranger Things season 4. Brown couldn't go into detail, but she did add that fans will "get answers" to the many issues that have dogged Eleven since the first season of Stranger Things. She also hinted that a "deep dive" into the character's past was on the cards, which piqued the actress's interest because it would allow her to delve deeper into her role.
