The Marvel franchise has grown throughout the years, from comic books to movies to television shows, with numerous authors and creators contributing to its success. Due to the vastness of the source material and mythos, Marvel looks to have an endless manufacturing line.

With sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and the first X-Men movies, Marvel's brand, if not Marvel Studios itself, achieved tremendous cinematic hits in the early twentieth century. iron Man, Marvel Studios' own cinematic world, debuted in 2008, a few years before Game of Thrones premiered in 2011. While some of the performers appeared in Marvel products before Game of Thrones, the majority of them appeared in Marvel films and television episodes while still working on Game of Thrones, or at least while the show was still airing.
