In the Lok Sabha, a question was raised to the Railway minister about the railway concession, whether the railways will again provide the facility of discount on train tickets. The Parliamentary Standing Committee has recommended concession on train tickets for senior citizens traveling in the sleeper and third AC. Earlier senior citizens who travel by train for a long period of time were given the privilege of a senior citizen. Through this, senior citizens have been given a maximum 40 to 50 percent discount on ticket prices while booking tickets for traveling in all classes of trains.

Offer on indian Railways:
There is good news for passengers traveling on indian Railways. Accordingly, Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given a lot of information about the exemption given to senior citizens. Railways are going to re-enforce the exemptions given to senior citizens in that regard. Along with this, some changes are said to have been made in the eligibility criteria as well.
Will the age limit be changed?
The media reported that the Railway Board is planning that the age limit for senior citizens is changed. Apart from this, discounts on tickets will be given only to certain categories of people.
Rules will be made soon:
According to the Railway Board, it plans to offer concessions to senior citizens, with the idea being to reduce the cost of these concessions while retaining the subsidy for senior citizens. No terms and conditions have been decided as of now.
Get a 53% discount:
According to the information, an average discount of 53 percent on fares is offered to all citizens traveling by train. Along with this, Divyang, students, and patients get many other benefits apart from this exemption.
