Today, smartphones have become an important part of our lives. Be it online shopping, banking or work, everything has become easy with mobile. But with this facility comes a big problem which is called distraction. Imagine, you are in a meeting, studying or driving, then suddenly you get an alert of a call or notification, distraction is certain. In such a situation, keeping the phone on airplane mode is not always a better option because it can completely cut off your connection. Instead, "Do Not Disturb" (DND) mode can be a great option.

What is DND mode?

For information, let us tell you that this feature silences the notifications and calls coming on your phone so that you can complete your important work without any hindrance. You can decide from which apps or contacts you get notifications and which ones to block. Notifications come even when DND is on but their sound is not heard. If you are bothered by frequent calls and notifications, then you can activate DND mode on your phone with the simple steps given below.

How to turn on DND mode on Android?

Note that the settings may vary slightly depending on the brand, but the basic method is almost the same.

Open Settings.

Type “Do Not Disturb” in the search bar or find the DND icon in Quick Settings.

Now turn on DND mode and if you want, you can schedule and customize it.

For scheduling, go to the ‘Schedule’ option, then press the + icon and select activities such as work, sleep, study, etc. Also set the time.

You can put some contacts (such as boss, partner, etc.) and apps in exceptions so that you keep getting notifications from them.
