Indian phone number registered with Truecaller
Note: Call recording may not work on all Android phones due to device restrictions or Android 10+ privacy policies.
🛠 Step 1: Install/Update Truecaller
Open Google Play Store.
Search for Truecaller → install or update to the latest version.
Open the app and verify your phone number if not already done.
🛠 Step 2: Enable Call Recording
Open Truecaller app → tap More (three lines or profile icon) → Settings.
Tap Call Recording → enable the toggle.
You may see a message:
“Truecaller will record incoming/outgoing calls automatically.”
Tap Allow to grant permissions for:
Microphone
Storage
Phone access
Tip: Make sure automatic call recording is enabled in the same menu.
🛠 Step 3: Record Calls
- Once enabled, Truecaller will automatically record all incoming and outgoing calls.
- During a call, you may see a recording icon on your screen.
- After the call ends, recordings are saved in Truecaller under Call Recording → Recordings.
🛠 Step 4: Manage Recordings
Open Truecaller → Call Recording.
You can play, rename, delete, or share recordings.
You can also set recording preferences:
Record all calls
Record selected contacts only
🛠 Step 5: Backup Recordings
- Truecaller allows you to backup call recordings to Google Drive.
- Go to Settings → Call Recording → Backup to google Drive → enable.
This ensures your recordings are safe even if you change your phone.
💡 Important Notes for indian Users
- Some Android 10+ devices restrict automatic call recording, so you may need manual recording in some phones.
- Indian privacy law allows one-party consent recording, so make sure at least one party (you) knows about the recording.
- Truecaller records both incoming and outgoing calls automatically if the phone and OS support it.
✅ Quick Tip: If Truecaller can’t record calls on your phone due to restrictions, you can use the built-in call recorder (available in Samsung, OnePlus, xiaomi phones) or Google phone app call recording in supported regions.
