Neeraj Chopra created history by winning a medal!!!


In the World Athletics championship 2022, Neeraj Chopra created history by winning a medal. This is India's first silver and second medal in this tournament. Neeraj had a poor start and after the first round he was in fourth place. Neeraj included himself in the medal race by throwing 88.13 meters in the very first throw of the second round. In the last throw, it was expected that he would overtake Anderson Peters but it did not happen. Despite this, Neeraj created history by winning a medal. indian star javelin thrower has given india a medal at the World Athletics Championships after 19 years.


The first medal came in 2003

Earlier, Anju bobby George had won a bronze medal in the year 2003, which was India's first medal in this event. India's Neeraj Chopra has fouled the first throw, while Anderson Peters has made it to the top with a throw of 90.46. Neeraj Chopra finished fourth with a throw of 82.34 in the second attempt and 86.37 in the third attempt. Rohit Yadav of india has thrown 78.05 meters in the first attempt and is currently out of the medal race.


Let us tell you that after 3-3 throws to all Javelin throwers in the first round, the top 8 throwers get a place in the second round. After which the remaining 8 athletes get a chance to throw 3-3 again, out of which the athlete with the best throw is given the gold, the second place athlete is given the silver and the third place athlete is given the bronze medal.
