Since it first opened in cinemas, Adipurush has been the target of criticism from the public and moviegoers. Moviegoers have been giving everything poor ratings, from the language to the VFX. The Om Raut-directed movie is being banned from theatres because of all the uproar it has generated.

A letter from the All india Cine workers Association to prime minister Narendra Modi asking him to "stop screening the movie and immediately order a ban of Adipurush screening in the theatres and OTT platforms in the future" dealt with the mythological epic starring prabhas and kriti sanon another setback.

The organization's members also stated in the letter that they demand an FIR filed against the film's producers, dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla, and director Om Raut. They said that the speech and script of the film "clearly defame the image of Lord ram and Lord Hanuman." The religious sensibilities of Hindus and Sanatan Dharm are offended by Adipurush's film. No matter what religion a person practises, Prabhu Sri ram is a deity to everyone of India. This film portrays Lord ram and even Raavan, who resembles a video game character, with hurtful rhetoric that affects every indian in the nation and beyond the world. Saif ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and actor prabhas shouldn't have been a part of the most reprehensible film in indian cinematic history. Adipurush is a total failure for our confidence in ram and the Ramayan.
