A picture shoot between a teacher and a Class 10 pupil at a government high school in Murugamalla, Karnataka, has stirred controversy on social media. The photographs, which show a teacher and a pupil hugging and kissing each other, were taken during an educational research visit.
Amit Singh Rajawat uploaded the photos on X, questioning the way society is heading in light of similar instances. The teacher's or student's identify was not revealed in the post. “Pictures and videos from a romantic photoshoot of a government school teacher with a Class 10 student in Karnataka's Murugamalla Chikkaballapur district, went viral, following which the student's parents filed complaint with the Block education Officer (BEO). The parents have demanded a thorough investigation into the teacher's behaviour,” reads the caption.
According to the post, the student's parents filed a formal complaint with the Block education Officer (BEO), requesting a thorough inquiry into the teacher's behaviour. BEO v Umadevi visited the school to conduct preliminary investigations but has declined to comment until the whole probe is done, according to the Deccan Herald. This episode has not only raised concerns about the propriety of the teacher-student connection, but it has also emphasised the necessity for clear ethical rules and professional conduct.
