Four prisoners of jaipur Central Jail of rajasthan had left after getting a referral slip for treatment. They were supposed to go to the hospital for regular checkup but they reached the hotel and later some were found roaming with their girlfriend or wife and some were found eating breakfast of Poha.

This incident brought disrepute to the jail and police administration. However, the police said on monday (May 26) that a total of 13 people including five constables, four prisoners and their four relatives were arrested on sunday in this case.

Bribe given to roam

The prisoners had allegedly given bribe to go outside the jail for a few hours to 'walk around and have fun'. According to the police, on Saturday, five prisoners had allegedly taken approval for medical checkup at SMS Hospital. But four of them, Rafiq Bakri, Bhanwar Lal, Ankit Bansal and karan Gupta, had given bribe to spend the whole day comfortably in the city instead of going to the doctor. Only one prisoner reached the hospital. None of these four returned to jail till 5.30 pm on Saturday.

The outing was fixed for Rs 25,000

A senior officer involved in the investigation said, "This outing was fixed for about Rs 25,000 through a middleman. The constables who accompanied them were promised Rs 5,000 each."

Deputy Commissioner of police Tejaswani gautam said that Rafiq and Bhanwar met their wife and ex-girlfriend respectively at a hotel in Jalupura. Later, drugs were recovered from the possession of Rafiq's wife and a case was registered against her under the NDPS Act. At the same time, Ankit and karan were caught in a hotel near the airport where they were having breakfast of poha. The room in this hotel was booked by Ankit's girlfriend. Later, the police detained Karan's relative from a hotel with Rs 45,000 in cash and several prisoner ID cards.
