On this, Aamir said, 'I have no problem in original work versus adaptation or remake. I don't feel that my creativity is getting reduced in doing a remake. I am doing new work for myself. Someone else has made this story. Now I am giving it my perspective. And the team is giving its perspective and we are putting our energy into it. We are putting life into it. It is totally unrelated to the team that has done it.'
Why are you doing Shakespeare till date?
Aamir Khan further said, 'People still do Shakespeare. Till date, Shakespeare is the number one play in the world. Till date, Shakespeare is done in every language. And for that we say that wow, he is doing Shakespeare. Why brother? It is a remake, stop it. You should write your own play. Why are you doing Shakespeare till date? It has been 400 years and you are still doing Shakespeare. When you do Shakespeare's play, you get appreciation. That too is a remake, isn't it brother. This is wrong thinking.' 'Isn't this double standards? If I do Shakespeare, I will get appreciation, but if I remake a Spanish film, then no. Why? Are the Spanish people doing something wrong?
