Maharashtra congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal on tuesday (17 June) launched a scathing attack on the inclusion of former shiv sena leaders in the BJP. Sapkal asked whether the ruling party will also include fugitive gangster dawood ibrahim in its fold? He termed the bjp a political washing machine and alleged that this party is full of goons, criminals and corrupt people.

Earlier in the day, former shiv sena (UBT) leaders sudhakar Badgujar and Babanrao Gholap joined the bjp, while bjp mla Seema Hiray strongly opposed Badgujar's entry into the party. Badgujar, once considered close to shiv sena MP Sanjay Raut, was targeted by the bjp last year when a video showed him dancing with Salim 'Kutta', an accused in the 1993 mumbai serial bomb blast case.

'People accused of Dawood links are also joining BJP'

According to PTI, Harshvardhan Sapkal asked, "People who were accused of corruption by bjp are now being welcomed in the party and are also being given ministerial posts. Now people accused of links with mafia don dawood ibrahim are also being inducted into the party with respect. Should we now expect bjp to induct Dawood into the party as well?"

Sapkal's serious allegations against sudhakar Badgujar

Sapkal further said, "BJP mla and now minister Nitesh Rane had once made serious allegations in the state assembly that Nashik's sudhakar Badgujar had organised a party for Dawood's aide Salim Kutta and had also presented photographs as proof. Today, the same Badgujar has been inducted into bjp and the party says that he has accepted Hindutva, so he is welcome. Does this mean that tomorrow even Dawood will be forgiven if he claims allegiance to Hindutva?
