Princess Mako of japan has announced her marriage to the media outside the royal family by issuing an engagement notice with the king's approval.


The princess will lose her royal position as soon as the news is made, which will kick off a lengthy wedding ceremony. A royal family woman who marries a commoner is required under Japanese imperial law to give up her royal family rank. However, a male member is exempt from this law.

Princess Mako revealed at the press conference that Kay Komuro grinned as brilliantly as the sun during their first meeting.


Mako adds, "I understood from a young age that following my marriage, I would lose my royal family status." As a member of the royal family, I have done my best to assist the monarch while also enjoying my own life, adds the princess.


 The engagement was first reported in the local press in May, but it was only officially announced on sunday by Japan's Imperial house Agency. According to the 1947 law that chose the crown prince in japan, only male heirs of the royal line may ascend the throne. Princess Mako was not included in the coronation order.


Groom Komuro works for the law business and is ready to marry Princess Mako. Five years ago, when the two were studying at university together, their love grew. Kay Komuro said the princess was calmly viewing herself "like the moon" during a televised news conference. 


Princess Mako, the next-degree prince Fumihido's eldest daughter, is 25 years old. prince Akishino is his name, according to the prince's official website.


The engagement was supposed to be announced in July. However, the wedding announcement was postponed due to the devastating rains in western Japan. According to NHK, Japan's state television, the wedding will take place next year.
