The barefooted and the Eco-Activist receives padma shri Award

Tulasi Gowda who is 72 years old tribal woman from karnataka has been graced with India's fourth Civilian padma shri award. She has received this prestigious award for her contribution to protecting our environment. Barefoot and in conservative attire she collected the award with utmost confidence and delight from President ram nath kovind in Delhi. tulasi Gowda comes from a rural village of karnataka who grew up in a very poor family with no education belonging to a native tribe. She is prestigiously called the 'Encyclopedia of the Forest' for her vast knowledge in plants and expertise in herbs and various species.

 
                              From an early age, she has planted many plants and trees and joined as a tentative volunteer in the forest department and made her permanent in that department later. She is applauded for her work and indulgence in that department and contributing to Nature conservation. On Monday, President has given out Padma awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The list consists of 7 Padma Vibhushan,102 padma shri, and 10 Padma bhushan awards. In the list, around 29 were women and one transgender. The awards were filtered in various departments including Social work, Science, Medicine, education, sports, civil service, etc.
