Tata Motors has announced an extension of the service warranty period for its customers in the wake of the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Now the Tata vehicles with warranty and free service period expiring between march 15 and May 31, can avail the services till July 31.

 

As of now, more than 700 people in india have tested positive for the coronavirus. There have been at least 17 deaths due to Covid-19.

 

"In light of the central government imposed lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the resultant inability of our customers to avail maintenance and repairs, as part of their vehicle's warranty policy, Tata Motors has decided to extend the last date, for customers whose OE warranty and free service period (not kms) are due to expire between 15th march, 2020 and 31st May, 2020, to 31st July, 2020," Tata Motors Senior General Manager and Head customer Care (Domestic and international Business) Subhajit Roy said.According to the automobile manufacturer, the Tata Motors workshops will inform the customers about the extension of the service warranty period.
