While the makers of 'Idhe Maa Katha' have classified the film as a road trip film, telugu isn't known for exclusively genre films. Even the recent film 'Love Story' failed to deliver on its promise of being a true-blue dance-based dramedy. 'Idhe Maa Katha,' which depicts four separate lives and their pivotal journey to Ladakh, is mostly an emotional-romantic drama.

Srikanth portrays Mahendra, a middle-aged business mogul who claims he wants to meet his first love in Ladakh. He has turned to addictions twenty-five years after being a love failure. He aspires to have a soulful moment with his ex-girlfriend. bhumika chawla portrays lakshmi, an unconventional housewife who, after finishing her home chores, rides a Royal Enfield motorcycle to complete her late father's unsung technical masterpiece. Her husband (Sameer) is unsupportive of her ambitions, and her two school-aged children are not passive observers of her misery.

While Mahendra and lakshmi have depressing stories to tell, Ajay (Sumanth Ashwin) is a daring bike racer who sees no value in a mundane academic existence. His father (Srikanth Iyyanger) is understandably enraged. Meghana (Thanya Hope), a chandigarh woman, has been rejected by her lover and is on the lookout for a way out. She had no idea that when she meets up with Mahendra, she will also have a rendezvous with ajay and lakshmi on her trip to Ladakh.

The writing does not go as deep into the characters' minds as it could. The finale uses the easy route of a gang of evil people to enhance the stakes. sumanth ashwin and tanya hope have no chemistry, which adds to their problems. Their love story starts to break apart after a while, and the duet shot in beautiful locales doesn't help matters.
