The gang-rape of a 17-year-old girl in hyderabad on May 28 resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the identification of four others, including three children. On friday night, a police officer told reporters that one of the youngsters will be captured on saturday, while three others are being sought by authorities. The identities of the three youngsters' families were withheld by Deputy Commissioner of police Joel Davis. When questioned if the youngster seized on saturday is the son of the Wakf Board head, he only responded, "He is the son of a VIP."

According to the police official, the victim's statement and other information obtained thus far show that the incident was not committed by an MLA's son. He also dismissed rumours that the issue concerned the grandson of home minister Mahmood ali as "baseless." After agreeing to drop the girl off at her home after a party at a pub in the upscale jubilee hills neighbourhood, the accused sexually assaulted her in a car. The accused dropped her near the pub after conducting the crime.

The victim's father approached the police on May 31, claiming his daughter had gone to a daytime non-alcoholic party and that he feared molestation had occurred there, according to the DCP. He informed the cops that the girl was in shock and couldn't speak. The police investigated the complaint and filed a case under Section 354 of the indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 9 and 10 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. "Following standard operating protocol, the police took the victim to Bharosa Centre, where lady authorities helped her feel at ease and instilled confidence in her. She didn't tell the lady officials what had transpired until the next day, and she finally gave her statement the next day "According to the DCP

The police changed the case to Section 376 D of the IPC and Sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act based on the victim's account, and Section 323 of the IPC was added because the victim had bruises. Various teams were formed under the command of the City police Commissioner and began gathering information. "The victim was unable to divulge the name of the accused since she was unfamiliar with them. We identified the five offenders, two of them are majors and three of whom are between the ages of 16 and 17, based on CCTV footage and other technological evidence "he stated
