India and bangladesh struck a pact on tuesday to build a new rail connection in bangladesh that will interconnect Bogura and Sirajganj. The planned railway track will create a shorter 'Dual Gauge Link' connecting Bangladesh's Western and Northern sections, as well as its Eastern and Southern portions, via Dhaka, according to a tweet from India's High Commission in Bangladesh.

"This is a huge step toward modernizing Bangladesh's rail network and improving railway connectivity within the country!" The tweet stated, "A new dedicated rail link from Bogura to shahid M. Mansur ali Station, Sirajganj would be established under Govt. Of india Line of Credit." In the participation of bangladesh Ministers of Railways Md Nurul islam Sujan and indian Ambassadors to bangladesh Vikram K Doraiswami, an agreement between bangladesh Railway and an indian consultancy JV of RITES Ltd and Aarvee Partners was inked.

In a tweetstorm, the indian High Commission claimed, "The planned meeting was headed by the Hon'ble Secretary (Railway) Mohd. Salim Reza." In the meantime, india and bangladesh have already been relying heavily on their strong bilateral connection to grow the mutual exchange of goods and services. india had also aided Dhaka earlier this month by donating two mobile health care oxygen plants to aid the nation's battle against COVID-19.
