New Delhi: The Center has appointed a task force and 17 flying squads to control air pollution in Delhi. These groups will ensure compliance with the supreme Court's recommendations.

The Karma Samiti was set up by the Centrally appointed air Quality Management Commission. Yesterday, the supreme court had sharply criticized the central government and the delhi government.

The Center was hearing a petition in the supreme court seeking to stop air pollution in Delhi.

The court directed the Center to implement the decisions. The court will monitor the proceedings. The case is set to return to court next Friday.

The apex court had yesterday criticized the central and state governments for not taking steps to curb pollution despite repeated directives.

The court also criticized the delhi government for opening schools when pollution continues to be rampant. Following this, schools in delhi will not be open until further notice, the delhi Environment minister said.

The court has given an ultimatum to the Center to take positive action to curb the pollution.

Chief Justice NV ramana had yesterday said that the court would have to appoint an action committee if the states did not implement the air pollution control measures in Delhi.

The plaintiff informed the court that the construction of the new parliament building was continuing despite the order to stop the construction work.

The court asked the Center to clarify whether the construction of Central Vista was causing pollution.

The apex court, which examined the affidavit submitted by the Center, criticized the states for not implementing previous directives to control pollution.

The apex court also sought directions from the Center in this regard. The court also asked what the Center was doing other than giving directions to the states.

The Solicitor General told the court that the directive was only to enforce the restrictions and that no disciplinary action had been taken against those who did not comply.

Central Vista construction is no more important than preventing pollution. The plaintiff also argued that he could show scenes of dust spreading from there.

The court asked the Center to respond in this regard. At the same time, the delhi government said it had implemented all the court orders.

The court had directed the Center and the states to submit information on what action has been taken to control the pollution by Wednesday.
