Tenders for charging parking fees for vehicles parked on the roadways in Pondicherry's urban areas have been issued. Pondicherry's traffic congestion has worsened. There isn't any available parking. In light of this, the pondicherry Municipality has decided to levy a fee for parking two-wheelers on the side of the road. For this, a tender has been requested. Each street has its own toll. The amount of the deposit has been published. On the 25th, there will be an electronic auction for bidders.

The contract will run from april 1 through march 31 of the following year. The aravind Ashram, the Manankula Ganesha temple area, Annasalai, Nehru Road, the new bus station, and the old port will all be taxed wherever they are in the city. It has been severely opposed by the AIADMK, which is currently a member of the NR Congress-BJP coalition in Pondicherry. "The notification by the municipal administration to tender for parking on more than 20 roads in the Puduvai city area is a bogus one," stated Puduvai east AIADMK Secretary Anpalagan.

People are not caught in traffic on a regular basis as a result of the city's existing road system being disrupted. This will disrupt daily peace and order, and the municipality will be paid by the surplus tax if it routinely collects taxes from various sources, such as the entertainment tax, cable tv tax, municipally owned stores, and the urban development tax.
