CWG 2026: good news for indian shooters!!!


Commonwealth Games Federation and Commonwealth Games australia on wednesday announced the games and events for the victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and Commonwealth Games australia on wednesday announced the all-sports schedule for the victoria 2026 CWG, consisting of 20 sports and 26 events. It includes nine para sports. Para badminton will be organized separately from them.

Indian shooters have so far won 135 medals (63 gold, 44 silver and 28 bronze) in the Commonwealth Games, while wrestling wrestlers have won 114 (49 gold, 39 silver and 26 bronze). indian shooters won 16 medals in the 2018 gold Coast edition, accounting for about 25% of the country's total of 66 medals (7 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze). In april this year, the indian Olympic Association (IOA) had asked the Commonwealth Games Federation to include shooting, wrestling and archery in the 2026 CWG.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be held in Victoria, australia from march 17-29. Several cities including melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Gippsland will host these games. The opening ceremony will take place at the melbourne Cricket Ground.
