Julio César Strassera (the acclaimed Ricardo Darn) is on the verge of an extraordinarily significant opportunity in the opening scenes of the film from filmmaker Santiago Mitre. argentina has a democratic government once more after years of cruel military rule, and the current administration plans to prosecute the former regime's officials for crimes against humanity. As the single prosecutor for the nation, Strassera will be responsible for organising the attempt to imprison some of the most powerful persons there. It is a risky and challenging task. Despite being formally removed from power, the former dictators continue to have a significant influence on institutions and the general public. Strassera believes the trial will never be permitted to proceed when the movie first starts.
However, when it begins, he is joined by recently appointed deputy prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo (Peter Lanzani), who offers a crucial viewpoint. He understands that their duty in this trial is to persuade the Argentine people of the legitimacy of this process as well as to offer proof of the defendants' plot. He is a professor from a distinguished military family. They must demonstrate that no one, regardless of social rank, is above the law and that the civilian court can and should speak truth to power.
This is not to suggest that there is no formal flair in the film; in fact, the use of montage and cinematography is essential for immersing the audience in the setting. The movie is not gloomy as a result, either. Instead, it is full of laughs because the script is confident—and rightly so—that lightness won't diminish the significance of the narrative. However, this strategy does place a lot of responsibility on the players, who must achieve a tough balance for argentina, 1985's tone-muddled cocktail to have the desired impact. They excel in all areas, particularly Darn who portrays the sombre and reticent public face of justice, and Laura Paredes who serves as the movie's main witness.
