In order to select the first list of candidates for the 2019 lok sabha elections, prime minister Narendra Modi presided over the BJP's Central election Committee (CEC) late on thursday evening. The gathering started at about 10:30 at night and went on for about four hours. Leaders including Union Ministers amit shah and Rajnath Singh, as well as bjp National President JP Nadda, were present at the meeting.

Attending the meeting were prominent state leaders such as yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Devendra Fadndavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Bhupendra Patel, the chief minister of Gujarat, Mohan Yadav, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, vishnu Deo Sai, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, and the chief minister of Goa.

Prior to the election commission announcing the dates of the lok sabha elections, which are probably going to happen in april or May, the bjp intends to present its first list.
Sources claim that before the election commission announces the dates of the lok sabha elections, the bjp will probably declare their candidates for the "weak seats" in Uttar Pradesh.
Top bjp figures, including chief minister of Uttar Pradesh yogi Adityanath, JP Nadda, and Union home minister amit shah, met last week to talk about the "weak seats" on which the party would face a tough election battle.
