The Human Rights Forum (HRF) released a fact-finding report that held Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers and other Hindutva forces accountable for the communal violence that broke out in Pittalabasthi, Chengicherla hamlet on sunday evening, march 24.
 
According to the source, the altercation started when RSS volunteers blasted Hindutva-Pop or H-Pop songs on loudspeakers during sunday afternoon Namaz time, such as "Hum Se panga Le Na Bete, Hindu Dharam Ke Sher Hai re Chote" (Don't meddle with us you son, We are Hindu faith's lions, you small one).

The music was stopped due to complaints from Muslims. However, the same music was played again that night while Muslims were leaving the mosque following Namaz, which sparked arguments and a violent fight that left both sides injured," the statement read.
 
Police take charge
The police came to the scene, separated the combatants, and took some people into custody based on information.
 
They were then placed under remand. The report stated that it was unknown how many people the police had placed under remand.
 
It added further that on the next day, Eatala Rajender and G Kishan Reddy, the head of the state bjp and Union minister, visited Pittalabasthi and promoted the idea that Hindus were the victims of injustice.

On Wednesday, march 27, bjp mp Bandi Sanjay Kumar, members of Bajrang Dal, and other activists of the Hindutva organization engaged in combat with the police and broke through the barricades to gain entry. It further stated that "videos of the incident widely circulated on social media."

There is a curfew in place for around 250 meters surrounding the area, the report stated.

Not the first time
The HRF study made clear that communal violence had transpired in the region before, with the first instance being during the ganesh chaturthi celebration last year.
 
Conflict between Muslims and Hindus erupted last year during Ganesh Chathurthi.
