World Autism Awareness Day: 'Empowering Autistic Voices'...

Autism cases are on the rise around the world, with more children being diagnosed and receiving therapy and treatment for autism than ever before, according to the CDC. Although there may be a correlation between the rising awareness of autism and the rise in instances, other possible causes include stress, low birth weight, and air pollution. Children with autism spectrum disorder may exhibit distinct behaviors, communication patterns, social interactions, and learning styles from most other children. Every year on april 2, the United Nations designates World Autism Awareness Day. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the condition and to strengthen efforts to educate, empower, and assist individuals living with autism.

In india, the prevalence of autism is likewise rising. A 2021 study that was published in the indian Journal of Paediatrics estimates that 1 in 68 children in india are thought to be affected by autism. The prevalence of autism is higher in boys than in girls, with a male-to-female ratio of about 3:1.

A mix of hereditary and environmental factors lead to autism. While not everyone with autism has the same symptoms, common ones include repetitive behaviors, obsessions, trouble interacting with others, and trouble communicating.

Theme for the 2024 World Autism Awareness Day

'Empowering Autistic Voices' is this year's World Autism Awareness Day theme. It attempts to provide those who have this condition more power and support so they can live fulfilling lives and even pursue successful careers. Every year, a topic is chosen to reinvigorate the commitment to embrace and help individuals with this illness.
