The cbi was given a four-week deadline by the bench, which was made up of Magistrates Justice sanjeev Khanna and Justice Deepankar Datta, to provide an affidavit and an explanation for the investigation's hold-up.
 
In the meantime, the CBI's Additional Solicitor General told the court that the discharge applications were the reason for the delay. The trial cannot be postponed for political grounds, the court said. The trial should not be impacted by Jagan's position as a politician and Chief Minister, according to Justice sanjeev Khanna. Additionally, the court said that it would consider petitions asking for Jagan's bail to be revoked and for the telangana cbi to move the matter to another state. The following hearing was rescheduled for the week of august 5.
