After samantha Ruth Prabhu withdrew from the project, shruti haasan was recently cast in her next film, the english film chennai Story. However, it has now been disclosed exclusively by people close to the india Herald that shruti haasan has also indicated that she is leaving the film.
 
The insider disclosed that shruti haasan has chosen to withdraw from the movie, which is being helmed by english director Philip John. The movie, which starred shruti haasan and Viveik Kalra, was billed as a romantic comedy. "Shruti only just began the chennai Story's first schedule. She left the movie, nevertheless, for reasons that are only known to her," the person disclosed.

The 2004 book The Arrangements of love by Timeri N. murari was adapted into the movie chennai Story. The movie centers on Anu, a bisexual investigator from tamil who works to assist a Welsh-Tamil guy in locating his father. The filmmaker himself had stated a few years ago that samantha was going to play the lead in the movie. But Shruti, who has since left the production, took the position of the kushi actress not too long ago.
 
Alongside Mark Rowley, Haasan's second english film would have been this project, after The Eye in 2023. Even though Haasan's successor hasn't been revealed yet, it would be intriguing to watch who the filmmakers choose to cast in her place given that two of the most popular leading actresses in tamil cinema have chosen to leave the movie.
