Iran Shoots Down Multiple Drones; US Think It's Israel...

According to US sources, israel launched an attack on Iranian territory on Friday. This is the most recent tit-for-tat exchange between the two bitter enemies, whose decades-long covert warfare has spilled over into the open and threatened to engulf the entire area in violence.

Facts about the current Israel-Iran crisis are as follows:

According to US officials, israel struck back at iran for its attack over the weekend, albeit the incident's seriousness was downplayed in both countries' media.

Iran's main broadcaster stated that explosions were heard close to Isfahan, the country's third-largest city, prompting iran to activate its air defense system over multiple cities, according to state media.

The Isfahan province is home to several Iranian nuclear plants, the most prominent of which is Natanz, the hub of Iran's uranium enrichment program. Iran's Tasnim news agency said that nuclear facilities in Isfahan are "completely secure".

Iran claimed to have shot down many drones, despite some media reports claiming that missiles had been fired, saying that there had been "no missile attack for now".

Iran's space agency spokesman Hossein Dalirian stated on X that multiple drones "have been effectively shot down by the country's air defence, there are no indications of a missile attack for now."

The Israeli military and government have yet to comment on the strike. The Jewish state seldom discusses particular military operations associated with Iran.

An announcement to airmen published on a US Federal Aviation Administration website stated that all flights were canceled out of Tehran's Imam Khomeini international Airport.

A few flights operated by Emirates and Flydubai that were passing over iran early on friday abruptly veered outside the airspace, as indicated by flight paths displayed on the tracking website Flightradar24.

After iran fired hundreds of missiles and drones toward israel over the weekend, israel had threatened to retaliate. The majority of them were thwarted.

Following an attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus, which was largely attributed to israel, followed that strike.
